Hello! My name is Christine, I am 28 years old and I am from Kenya. I am currently living and working in Thailand as an English teacher, where I teach children from Grade 1 to Grade 9.

Working with children has given me a lot of experience in communicating with different age groups, being patient, responsible and creating a positive environment for children to learn and feel comfortable. I enjoy making lessons interactive and finding creative ways to keep children engaged. Although teaching has taught me a lot, I am also looking forward to experiencing life in a different environment and getting to know a family and their culture more personally.

I would describe myself as caring, responsible, independent, adaptable and easygoing. I am comfortable taking responsibility and I understand the importance of being reliable when caring for children. I also enjoy spending time with children through activities such as games, reading, creative activities, outdoor activities and helping with schoolwork.

I have always been interested in travelling and experiencing different cultures. I have travelled around Southeast Asia and I enjoy discovering new places, meeting people from different backgrounds, photography and creating travel content. I would love the opportunity to experience everyday family life in Europe rather than simply visiting as a tourist.

I also studied French for four years during secondary school. I have forgotten quite a lot since then, but I still remember the basics and would be very happy to refresh and improve my French. I am also interested in learning more about the local language and culture wherever I am placed.

As an au pair, I would be happy to help with childcare, school routines, homework, preparing simple meals for the children, keeping their spaces organised and other reasonable tasks related to their care. I understand that every family has its own routines and expectations, and I would be happy to discuss these openly before deciding on a placement.

I am looking for a family where communication is open, expectations are clear and everyone treats each other with respect. I would love to build a genuine relationship with my host family and hopefully become someone the children feel comfortable with and enjoy spending time with.
