# Hello, I'm Andre! ??

Hi! My name is **Andre**, but you can call me **Andre** or **Rey**. I'm 23 years old and I come from Sumber, Cirebon, Indonesia.

I grew up in a boarding school environment, where I completed my high school education at an Islamic boarding school. Living there taught me many important things, such as independence, responsibility, discipline, respecting others, and how to live together with people from different backgrounds.

Currently, I work as a **graphic designer and administrator**. I enjoy my work, but I also feel that there is still so much more I want to experience outside of my usual environment. This is one of the reasons why I'm interested in becoming an Au Pair.

## Why do I want to become an Au Pair?

For me, being an Au Pair is not simply about travelling to another country. I want to experience what it is like to become part of a new family, learn about their culture, understand their daily life, and challenge myself by living in a completely new environment.

I'm someone who enjoys exploring new things and meeting new people. I actually enjoy talking to strangers and hearing about their experiences and perspectives. I believe living with a host family would give me a meaningful opportunity to grow as a person while also contributing something positive to the family.

I'm particularly interested in **Canada** because of its high quality of life, multicultural environment, diverse opportunities, and strong education system. I would love to experience Canadian culture firsthand rather than simply learning about it from the internet or books.

## My experience with children

I have had several meaningful experiences working with and teaching children.

In 2019, when I was in my second year of high school, I participated in a community service program where I lived and served in a village. One of my responsibilities was teaching **Qur'an reading to kindergarten and elementary school children** and helping guide them in religious activities.

I also had the opportunity to teach at a **junior high school and senior high school for about one year**, where I taught Arabic.

These experiences taught me that every child has a different personality and way of learning. I learned to be patient, communicate clearly, listen to them, and create an environment where they feel comfortable learning and expressing themselves.

Besides teaching, I was also active in organizations at my boarding school. I served as a **secretary** and was also involved in managing a **student dormitory**. These responsibilities taught me how to organize activities, communicate with others, solve problems, and take responsibility for people around me.

## What kind of person am I?

I would describe myself as **curious, responsible, adaptable, and easy to talk to**.

I enjoy exploring new places, trying new things, meeting people, and learning from different perspectives. In my free time, one of my favorite activities is playing **basketball**.

I also speak **Indonesian as my native language**, have an **intermediate level of English**, and am **fluent in Arabic**. I'm also very motivated to improve my English and learn more about the language and culture of the country I will be living in.

## What can I contribute to your family?

I'm happy to help with children and become involved in their daily activities. I can help take care of them, play with them, accompany them with their activities, and support them with their studies.

Since I have teaching experience, I can also help children learn subjects that I'm familiar with, especially **Arabic**, while making learning fun and comfortable.

I'm also willing to help with reasonable household tasks and do my best to make daily life easier for the family. I understand that being an Au Pair also means being responsible, respectful, and willing to contribute as a member of the household.

## What do I hope for from my host family?

More than anything, I hope to find a host family where we can **respect, trust, and support each other**.

As an Au Pair, I will be far away from my own family, friends, and familiar surroundings. Because of that, I hope to feel welcomed and comfortable in my host family's home, while also respecting their privacy, rules, and way of life.

I don't expect my host family to replace my own family, but I hope we can build a genuine relationship where we can communicate openly, understand each other, and enjoy our time together.

I also want to feel safe and respected during my stay, and I will give the same respect and care to my host family in return.

I know that living abroad will come with challenges, and I'm ready to learn from them. I hope that during my Au Pair experience, I can not only discover a new culture and environment, but also become a better, more independent, and more open-minded person.

Most importantly, I hope I can become
