Hello! My name is Lalaine Ada, I am 23 years old and from the Philippines. It is a pleasure to introduce myself to you. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and I am currently preparing for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers in the Philippines.

I would describe myself as a caring, patient, responsible, hardworking, and positive person. I really enjoy communicating with people and getting to know different personalities and cultures. I am also someone who enjoys being around children, and this is one of the biggest reasons why I would love to become an Au Pair.

I have been working with children in different ways for several years. I have been working as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher for almost two years, mostly teaching Chinese children through online classes. I really enjoy my work because I get to interact with children, help them learn English, and see their progress. My experience as a teacher has also taught me how to be patient, understanding, and flexible because every child learns and behaves differently.

I also have personal experience taking care of children in my family. When I was younger, around 13 to 15 years old, I helped take care of my three cousins who are triplets. I also helped take care of my nephew, who has been living with us since he was a baby. He is now six years old, and we are very close. Because of these experiences, taking care of children is something that feels very natural and meaningful to me.

During my college practice teaching, I also realized how much children respond to the way I approach them. I believe that teaching is not only about the lesson itself. It is also about knowing how to communicate with children, making them feel comfortable, listening to them, and building their trust. I was very happy to receive the Best Demonstration Teacher award in the entire Education Department in 2026, shortly before I graduated. It was a very meaningful achievement for me and made me even more confident in working with children.

Aside from teaching, I also started working when I was in my first year of college. I worked in a fast-food restaurant for two years while studying. It was not always easy to balance work and school, but it taught me to be hardworking, responsible, independent, and good at managing my time.

I am interested in becoming an Au Pair because I have always dreamed of experiencing life in another country. I have also researched the Au Pair program and really like the idea of cultural exchange. For me, being an Au Pair is not simply about going abroad. I want to experience everyday life in another culture, learn the language, meet new people, become more independent, and most importantly, become part of a family.

I would love to share my Filipino culture, food, traditions, and stories with my host family. At the same time, I am very excited to learn about your culture, your family traditions, and your way of life. I am open-minded and willing to learn and adapt to a new environment.

I hope to find a host family where we can communicate openly and honestly, respect each other, and build a good relationship. I understand that every family has different routines and expectations, and I am willing to learn and follow them. I would be happy to help with the children’s daily routines, play with them, support their learning, and spend quality time with them.

More than anything, I hope to find a family where I can feel welcomed and trusted. I would love to become someone your children can feel safe and comfortable with, while also respecting your family’s privacy and boundaries.

I know that moving to another country and living with a new family will be a big step for me, and I am sure there will be things I will need to learn along the way. But I am excited about the challenge and willing to do my best. I hope this experience will help me grow not only as a teacher and future professional, but also as a person.
