Hello, dear Host Family!

My name is Devan, and I am 18 years old. I come from Malang, Indonesia, a city known for its beautiful nature, friendly people, and comfortable atmosphere. I am an Asian Muslim, and I am very excited about the opportunity to introduce myself to you and hopefully become a part of your family.

I would describe myself as an open-minded, curious, and caring person. For me, learning new things is not just a hobby, but a necessity. I believe that every person, culture, and experience can teach us something valuable. One principle that I try to live by is an Indonesian proverb, "Semakin berisi, semakin merunduk," which means that the more knowledge and experience we have, the more humble we should become.

For the past four years, I have been actively involved in an organization called IPM (Ikatan Pelajar Muhammadiyah). Through this experience, I have met and worked with many different people, organized activities, communicated with teams, and learned how important cooperation and responsibility are. It has taught me to respect different opinions, be tolerant, and understand that everyone has their own background and way of thinking.

I really enjoy meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and trying new experiences. I also love spending time with children. I enjoy playing with them, listening to their stories, accompanying them while they learn, and simply being someone they can feel comfortable around.

As a Muslim from Indonesia, I value kindness, respect, tolerance, and compassion. I understand that living with a host family means adapting to a new environment and respecting their traditions, routines, beliefs, and personal space. At the same time, I would be happy to share Indonesian culture, traditions, food, and stories with you.

For me, becoming an au pair is not only about visiting another country. I see it as an opportunity to experience a new culture, build meaningful relationships, learn from a different family, and grow into a more independent and responsible person.
