Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile.
My name is Rosemary, and I am a qualified Early Childhood Educator from Nigeria with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I have dedicated my career to caring for and educating young children because I truly believe that the early years shape a child's confidence, character, and lifelong love of learning.
My journey into childcare began long before I earned my degree. After losing my mother at a young age, I helped care for my younger siblings while my father worked to provide for our family. Although it was a difficult period in my life, it taught me responsibility, patience, compassion, and the importance of making children feel loved, safe, and secure. Those early experiences inspired the career I have today.
Over the years, I have worked with children in professional daycare settings and in private homes. I currently work as a Daycare Manager at Deep Water Crèche, where I care for infants and toddlers, plan age-appropriate learning activities, support children's social and emotional development, and work closely with parents to ensure every child receives the care and encouragement they need. Alongside this role, I also work with a young child in her home, helping her maintain and strengthen her English language skills while she attends a French school. These experiences have taught me that every child learns differently, and I enjoy adapting my approach to meet each child's individual needs.
I believe children learn best when they feel happy, respected, and understood. I enjoy reading stories, singing songs, arts and crafts, outdoor play, sensory activities, educational games, and creating simple learning experiences that encourage curiosity and independence. I also understand the importance of routines, consistency, good communication, and working as a team with parents.
Learning is very important to me. In addition to my university education, I regularly participate in international professional development courses and childcare training to keep my knowledge up to date and ensure I provide care that reflects current best practice. I have also had my academic qualifications evaluated by international credential assessment organisations as part of my professional development journey.
Families who know me describe me as calm, patient, dependable, organised, and trustworthy.
