i am hoping to find someone who my mom and i can feel like family with.

paid work would be for 3 weeks per month, and
one week free from work (and welcome to stay in the room provided for you) - because that is when i will be there to help care for my mom.

the first time-frame would be from 7th of March until the 15th of May. I would then be taking my mom back to Europe for three months, inscha'Allah. (a total of 7 weeks of work for you)

you would be welcome to stay in the apartment during those three months that we are away, and ready to work when we return around the middle of August.

english is necessary around the house. (if you happen to speak Thai, that is my mother's mother-tongue, she would be delighted)

about my mother: her name is Veenee, she is 79 years old,born in Thailand, lived 50 years in America. sometimes talkative, and sometimes not talking much at all. gentle and quiet presence.

she is still able to take her medicines on her own, she showers on her own, toileting etc... independent. but she is not very physically active, walking beyond 30 minutes becomes painful. she uses dentures, but she is careful to not eat things that are too difficult to chew (meat should but cut in small pieces, vegetables should not be too crunchy). she has no food allergies. i am careful to keep her on a halal diet even though she doesnt claim any religious belief (she is very respectful and tolerant, and accustomed to me praying all the time at home, so whenever you need to take a prayer break, that is fine and i encourage it!)

she does not usually eat very much but if you prepare something and eat together, i think she eats a little more when together with others.

things to do daily: preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner

once per week or as needed, shopping for groceries.
(we can arrange for paying a driver to bring you to the market)

i hope for you to be an emergency contact during the times i am not in town... just in case anything happens, to keep me updated.

my mother was fully independent and even driving a car caring for herself up until a few months ago when she had a sudden onset brief psychotic episode - the medications she is taking, one of them is for high blood pressure, the other is for her cholesterol levels, and then the other medication she is taking is a psychiatric medicine which prevents her from having the symptoms of her psychotic episode (delusions, hearing voices, being very scared anxious with paranoia). since being on these medications, on the good side, she has peace and is no longer in distress... but she has lost the capacity to drive a car, she has difficulty following long conversations as she is slightly cognitively impaired. and her energy is very low. she might be a little depressed because of her very big lifestyle change,losing her independence and leaving what had been her home for so many years.

-- one week per month i will be staying with my mom to visit and help out (i would sleep in her room, so you still have your private space). when i am there, that is your week free from working, since i would then cook and you are welcome to be with us eating together if you like, you are invited.

about me, i am a wife and mother from america living in Austria 20 years. i am trying to find a way to eventually get a visa for my mother to be able to come home to live with me in Austria because she is not able to live on her own anymore. the process may take a long time to accomplish (at least one year, inscha'Allah).

i am going to be in Lefke with my mother from the 18th of January until the 22nd, so we can find a two bedroom apartment to rent, and in hopes of finding someone willing to be her caretaker when i am not able to be around... until we are hopefully able to keep her full time in Europe.
