My Mom is 79 and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was 30. She managed to have a family, start a home rental business, and remain independent. I’m her son and over the past ten years I have increasingly become her caretaker. It’s difficult for her to manage when I’m away, so we’re looking for a live-in caretaker.
Her day to day needs are fairly simple but she still requires help. The job would require much of your time to be spent with her in Tucson- though you would have free time during the day for some of your own pursuits. If you have hobbies or maybe an online degree or family to communicate with- all of that is fine. She has no needs that require a medical background. She can still bathe, take proper meds, and feed herself, though she needs help with meal prep or pickup. She can get around with her walker but requires a wheelchair for long distances. The worst that happens is she falls from time to time. If you can’t help her up, the local medics can do it.

She likes going to the movies, shopping, driving around the desert, eating out for breakfast or lunch, and visiting my sister in Phoenix. If you could help her with weekly trips to physical therapy, maybe a senior program, and massage- that would be great. There’s always something she might want you to pickup when it comes to food and groceries. She has a small Mercedes SUV which you can use..e recently decided to stop driving. Gas and insurance is provided.
She lives in a pretty house close to the mountains with views of the city. The house is surrounded by cactus gardens. It's quite peaceful! There is an open bedroom near hers. The house has internet and Directv and two ACs. We’re open to outfitting your room with whatever you request. Your food will be paid for, as well as your travel to and from Arizona.

I spend part of the year in California but will be Tucson, at the house, from time to time. We can offer you two months of vacation each year. During that time I will be here, watching her exclusively. I’m flexible as to when you’d like to use that time.
