Introduction
I am a 62-year-old former Programme Assistant with 32 years' working experience working in the international NGO sector.
My direct experience with senior care has been for two older relatives (separately), one of whom had impaired memory, over a combined period of three years. Although I have had First Aid training, my primary role was more as a companion to both ladies.
I lived and studied in Germany for two years at university level after which I worked with a German firm in Kenya for seventeen years, thereby greatly strengthening my German language fluency.
Since childhood, my interest was in health care and to be a nurse, a dream I was not able to actualise in my younger years. Now, I hope to be able to pursue this passion.
