Family's Introduction to Nanny
We are a family with 2 girls who love crafting, cooking, handstands, playing in streams and animals. We live on 7 acres in the rural woods of Vermont. I (the mom) am a single parent, but my long term partner lives in works on site also. He has a French Bulldog mix and I have an Australian Sheppard mix, so between the girls and the dogs it's a lot like having a little parade around.
We have a lot of community up here and this would be a really fun summer gig for someone looking to enjoy Vermont during the best time of year. Our elevation is 1600', and the high here mid July hovers at about 82. We have local swimming spots, farmers markets, pizza nights, and super fun little spots and shops all over.
We live and work for an artist non-profit and are working on getting residency programs up in the fall. We have work shop space, movement space, and art gallery and 3 acres of public gardens.
I am looking for help with the girls to get them to and from places. Most camps are at least 20 minutes away and it can get tricky to do drop off and pick up and actually have some assemblance of a work day in there also. So someone to assist in kiddo taxi to and from, and help get them settled after camp would be the goal. I expect the hours to fluctuate slightly, but to be somewhere around 20 a week when the girls are in camp, and closer to 32 when one is home. I am still sussing out the schedule there and closer to summer I am confirm all dates, times, addresses, etc. The salary is fixed weekly regardless of hours which seemed like the easiest way to pay someone since it will differ. If someone prefers hourly we can certainly talk about it, we are flexible and want to make sure you get what you need.
We have a car you can use to do pick up and drop off, but we encourage you to have one for your own exploring.
The girls asked me to find someone who was "kind, liked playing Nintendo Switch, made macaroni and cheese, and would take us swimming at the lake." They like crafts, boardgames, picking flowers, cartwheels, watching TV and snuggling, and baking. At their best they are funny, creative, mathematician problem solvers who like to play together. At their worst they can run a little moody and fight like sisters. They are both very self aware though and will advocate when they need something.
I mentioned it int he above listing but it bears a second notice that we need someone who is comfortable with the LGBTQ community. A lot of our friends and family are in this community and we want to make sure someone is in alignment with that.
If you got to the bottom of this congratulations! We hope to set up a time to talk soon!

Job Description
Salary position: $400 weekly - June 29th to August 15th (7 weeks total) - Weekends and evenings off
Includes housing in a separate room in a separate building.
Must have drivers' license
Wanted: creative and nature loving human to come hang out with 2 kiddos and 2 dogs at a non-profit for the summer.
This includes: Driving to and from various local summer camps, and helping watch kids during regular working hours during the week. This schedule will fluctuate weekly based on summer camp schedules (i.e. one kid might be home while one is at camp, or both kids are at different camps. There might be one week that both kids are home but not sure, still booking those.)
Some light cooking would also be required, kid friendly stuff. Both girls can cook a little on their own (mac and cheese, egg sandwiches, etc) but some assistance and additional meal making would be amazing.
A car will be provided for you to transport children in.
We live and work at a non-profit with 3 acres of public gardens, an art gallery, makers spaces and multiple houses. On campus (but separate from the house our family lives in) we have a private room available with a shared kitchen space.
This is a remote area, so we highly encourage you to have your own vehicle for exploring after work hours and on weekends. Unfortunately we cannot host any pets, only humans.
This would be an ideal summer job for someone creative and interested in nature. We live and work on site so we are here most of the time. We have a lot of really friendly and interesting staff, if you are highly motivated you could pick up some work hours in the garden helping weed, but this is totally optional.
Side note, we are looking for someone comfortable with the LGBTQ community, a lot of our friends and family up here are in that community and it's important to us that the girls have someone that shares that value.
