Family's Introduction to Nanny
I'm so excited to see that you've found our profile. I am an assistant director at Camp Runoia and my wife and I are looking for a nanny to join us at camp this summer!
Camp Runoia is a down-to-earth girls’ sleepaway camp located in central Maine. With a choice-based structure and a kind, smaller camp community, we’re proud to celebrate our 119th consecutive summer this year! Our rich history allows us to offer a truly “traditional” camp feel—think wooden cabins, canoeing, dining hall bells—while also embracing diversity and progressiveness. We take great pride in being inclusive and empowering our girls to advocate for themselves, use their voices, and become agents of change in the world.
You will be responsible for our 2 year old son daily and occasionally for our 6 year old daughter when she is not in program. Our kids are happy, energetic, respectful and love being outside! This would be an amazing position for anyone looking to have a summer camp experience while getting to spend quality time with some awesome kids!
We look forward to hearing from you!
Ali and Heather
Job Description
The nanny is responsible for:
Caring for, working with, and playing with the children of director Staff, ranging from babies to 6 years old
Integrating the children into the regular camp program when possible (i.e. swim lessons, crafts, Special Events, etc.)
Coordinating with the director Staff families regarding schedules, pick-up and drop-off times, etc.
All Nannies can expect to learn valuable lessons in child care, working with parents, and interpersonal skills. All Nannies work under the direction of full-time Camp Runoia Staff, as well as alongside the parents of the children. Through their service, Nannies play a crucial role in the experience of campers at Camp Runoia.
Finally, all Nannies get to work in an exciting, kid-oriented, progressive environment alongside other talented and passionate staff. The hours are long and the work is challenging, but the job is very rewarding! Nannies will live in a cabin with other counselors and campers so they will be able to fully immerse themselves in the full camp experience!
