Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. My name is Joy, and caring for children has been a meaningful and consistent part of my life for many years. From my teenage years to now, I have had the privilege of working with children across a wide range of ages, starting as early as 6 weeks old and continuing with toddlers, school-aged children, and beyond. These experiences have shaped me into a patient, attentive, and nurturing caregiver who genuinely enjoys supporting children’s growth and well-being.

What makes me special is the level of care, intention, and emotional awareness I bring into every interaction with a child. I don’t just “watch” children. I actively engage with them, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and encouraged. For example, when caring for infants, I pay close attention to their cues, feeding patterns, and comfort, creating a calm and secure environment. With older children, I enjoy helping with homework, organising creative activities like arts and crafts, and encouraging outdoor play or simple adventures that stimulate their imagination.

I pride myself on being gentle yet responsible. Families often describe me as someone who creates a warm and comforting presence, while still maintaining structure and safety. I understand how important it is for parents to feel at ease when leaving their children in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility very seriously.

In addition to my hands-on experience, I am continuously working on my personal and professional development. I have gained practical knowledge in child care routines, safety awareness, and communication, and I am always open to learning more to better support the families I work with.

I am also adaptable to different parenting styles and household routines. I respect each family’s values and preferences, whether it comes to discipline, schedules, diet, or screen time, and I make every effort to follow them consistently.

As for personal disclosure, I believe in being open and transparent. I may have piercings and/or tattoos, but they are tasteful and do not interfere with my professionalism or the care I provide. My focus is always on maintaining a respectful and appropriate environment for your child.

Beyond caregiving, I bring a calm, positive energy into the home. I enjoy creating meaningful connections with children, whether that’s through storytelling, helping them learn something new, or simply being a comforting presence after a long day. I also understand the importance of communication with parents and will always keep you updated on your child’s day, progress, and any concerns.
