Dear Family,
I'm Romelia, affectionately known as Romi. I am excited to apply for a Rota nanny position with a wonderful family. With over 27 years of experience in childcare, I've had the privilege of working with children aged 2 months to 12 years in various settings, including USA daycare centers, private households, and luxury resorts. I have a genuine passion for working with children, especially little ones, where I can be myself and be silly, as perfection isn't expected in their eyes.
As a native Spanish speaker with English as my second language, I have lived and worked in both languages for the past 15 years in Pamplona, Spain. In my role as a teacher and course director at West End Idiomas, I utilize my English language skills to help young learners become bilingual. My responsibilities include planning lessons and developing vocabulary and grammar games and activities for primary children. I firmly believe that exposing children to multiple languages from a young age significantly enhances their cognitive and social development.
In addition to my teaching role, I also care for children on a one-to-one basis in both Spanish and English and teach individual classes. My approach to childcare is centered on treating each child as an individual with unique rhythms and needs. I prioritize calm and respectful communication, gentle parenting, and structured routines to provide a sense of security and predictability for children.
When I'm not working, you can find me playing pádel, hitting the gym, watching tennis or pádel matches, traveling (when possible) or enjoying a cup of coffee with friends, or getting lost in a romantic story. I also love house decoration, fine fashion, and fashion with a modern twist. I'd love to share some of my hobbies with the children in my care, whether through nature walks, arts activities, or music. My goal is to create a fun and engaging environment that supports the development of the children and shares cultural knowledge.
I am a tranquil, discreet, respectful, and loving individual. I'm fully equipped to deliver emotionally intelligent, educationally enriching, and safe care, including within a rota schedule and across worldwide travel. I'm excited about the opportunity to work with a family and am committed to building a long-term relationship. I'm culturally adaptable, confident in working with high-profile families and international environments, and eager to learn about the family's dynamics and values.
