Hello, my name is Ako.
I was born in Japan. In Japan, I have a certified childcare qualification and worked in a position where I supported children in gaining experience through volunteer activities.
In Canada, I worked as a nanny for over five years and supported many families. I also taught Japanese to Canadian children as well.
Nanny Experience
During my time in Canada, I cared for children of different ages — infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school students, including children with autism. Depending on their age and needs, I planned different activities to give them new experiences and help them learn and grow.
I always tried to build trust by listening carefully to the children and communicating with them with kindness and respect. One of the most important things I focused on was my own attitude — how I speak and behave, and how I treat others — because when parents are not around, I become a role model for the children. I believe it’s important that children learn not only from activities but also from daily interactions.
I also helped with light household chores. Once a year, I prepared a report for the parents, summarizing how their child had grown and developed.
It makes me truly happy if I can be even a small help to the children and their families.
