My name is Emma, I am a 22-year-old from Ireland, and I have just completed working as an au pair in Italy. Living abroad has given me valuable experience adapting to new households, routines, and cultures, and I have really enjoyed becoming part of a family’s daily life while providing reliable and attentive childcare.
I have experience caring for children of different ages and understand the importance of consistency, structure, and clear communication. I am comfortable supporting children with their daily routines such as morning preparation, school drop-offs and pick-ups, meals, homework support, playtime, and bedtime. I aim to create a calm, safe, and positive environment where children feel supported and listened to.
In addition to my au pair experience, at home in Ireland I assist my mum with teaching Irish dancing to children. This has helped me develop patience, leadership skills, and confidence working with groups of children, while also making activities fun and engaging. I also hold a qualification as a Special Needs Assistant, which has given me a deeper understanding of children who may require additional support, empathy, or structure. I am attentive, patient, and comfortable adapting to individual needs.

I would describe myself as responsible, caring, and organised. I am naturally calm and reliable, and I take my responsibilities seriously while also bringing warmth and positivity into the home. I respect household rules and routines and understand the importance of discretion and professionalism, particularly in busy or high-standard households.

I enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures — I previously travelled around Southeast Asia, which helped me become more independent, adaptable, and confident navigating new environments. Living abroad has taught me how to be self-sufficient while still being dependable and supportive within a family setting.

I am happy to help with light household duties related to the children and enjoy being involved in family life while also respecting personal space and boundaries.
