We are a Franco-German family living in Thomery, a peaceful village next to Fontainebleau, and we are looking for someone who would enjoy becoming a trusted part of our family life from February 2027.

Dad is German and, because of his professional commitments, spends more time in Germany than in France. His travel schedule is not always fixed far in advance. Mum works in Fontainebleau and is therefore looking for a reliable extra pair of hands, particularly during the periods when Dad is away.

We have two little children, who will be 19 months and 5 months old. They already have their own daytime childcare, so what we are really looking for is someone who can help make the busy parts of family life easier — particularly the end of the day.

We would especially love to meet someone who is warm, mature and genuinely comfortable with very young children. Experience with babies is important to us, as is being able to stay calm when both children need attention at the same time.

As a Franco-German family, language is also an important part of what we are looking for. We would love to welcome someone who speaks German naturally with the children and helps make it part of their everyday life. German should therefore be fluent or native-level, with English and/or French alongside it.

We recently bought our home and are still making it our own. It has a large garden, plenty of space, and you would of course be welcome to use the house as your home too. You would have your own bedroom and a bathroom next to it.

We are looking for someone who likes the idea of living with a family while still keeping real independence and free time, discovering the Fontainebleau area and having easy access to Paris.

Above all, we are hoping to find someone with whom there is a genuine feeling of trust and compatibility. If you are looking for a warm bilingual family, enjoy caring for babies and toddlers, and would like to spend a year in France, we would be very happy to hear from you.

We are looking for a German-speaking live-in nanny / family helper to join our family in Thomery, near Fontainebleau, from February 2027, ideally for approximately one year.

Our two children will be 19 months and 5 months old. They are both cared for by childminders in Thomery during the working day, so this position is mainly focused on evenings, weekends and selected holiday periods.

The role is expected to average around 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. Some weeks may require fewer hours, while others may be busier depending on Dad’s work commitments in Germany.

Main responsibilities would include:

- collecting the children from their childminders when needed;
- helping with bath time, dinner and bedtime;
- supporting Mum with the evening routine;
- occasional childcare during weekends;
- additional help during some holiday periods.

Most evenings, you would be working alongside Mum, rather than being solely responsible for both children.

Because our children are very young, we are specifically looking for someone with previous hands-on experience caring for babies and toddlers. We value reliability, calmness, flexibility and good judgement.

Fluent or native-level German is essential. English is also important, and French would be a plus.

The position is live-in. You would have your own private bedroom and a bathroom immediately next to it, as well as access to another bathroom and all shared areas of our home. We have a large garden.

Our house is around 1.2 km from Thomery train station. There are also regular buses to Fontainebleau and Fontainebleau-Avon station. A bicycle can be provided.

Accommodation and meals are included. Additional financial compensation can be discussed according to the agreed working hours and schedule.
