Dear Future Host Family,
My name is Irene Guzman, and I am from the Philippines. I am currently living and working in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. I am 25 years old and a graduate of the University of the Cordilleras in the Philippines, where I earned my degree in Education. Becoming a teacher has always been one of my greatest achievements because I genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow, and become confident individuals.
I would like to introduce myself and share a little about who I am. I consider myself a kind, responsible, patient, and hardworking person. I always try to maintain a positive attitude, even in challenging situations. I value honesty, respect, and open communication because I believe these are the foundation of a happy and healthy relationship, especially when living with a host family.
Since I was in elementary school until I graduated from college, I have been an active athlete. Sports have taught me discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and responsibility. Aside from sports, I also enjoy cycling during my free time because it helps me stay healthy, active, and relaxed. I believe maintaining an active lifestyle allows me to have more energy and a positive mindset every day.
Currently, I am working in Saudi Arabia as a private tutor while also assisting my employer with light household chores. My daily responsibilities include helping children with their studies, guiding them with homework, encouraging good learning habits, and supporting their educational development. I also help keep the household organized by performing light cleaning and assisting with simple daily tasks whenever needed.
Before coming to Saudi Arabia, I worked as a teacher in the Philippines for one year, where I gained valuable experience teaching and caring for children from different backgrounds. This experience strengthened my patience, creativity, communication skills, and ability to understand each child's unique needs. It also taught me how important it is to create a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where children can learn and feel valued.
Working with children has always been my passion. I enjoy spending time with them by reading books, helping them with schoolwork, playing educational games, doing arts and crafts, and participating in outdoor activities whenever possible. I believe children learn best when they feel loved, supported, and encouraged to explore their talents and abilities.
As a person, I am adaptable and eager to learn new cultures, traditions, and languages. I believe becoming part of a host family is not only an opportunity to work but also a chance to build meaningful relationships, share my Filipino culture, and learn from yours.
