Hello,

my name is Isabel, I am 18 years old and I come from Germany. I speak both German and Spanish, as part of my family is originally from Colombia. Growing up with two different cultures has made me curious about other countries, traditions and ways of life from an early age.

I have decided to spend a year as an au pair because I would love to experience a new culture, improve my English and, most importantly, become part of a host family. I can already understand English quite well and communicate in most everyday situations, but my goal is to become more fluent and confident when speaking. I believe that living with a host family and using English every day is the best and most natural way to achieve this.

I chose Ireland because I have heard so many wonderful things about the people and would love to experience the famous Irish hospitality for myself. I am also fascinated by Ireland’s beautiful landscapes, its culture and traditions, and I would be very excited to discover more about the country and everyday life there.

I would describe myself as a friendly, reliable, flexible and responsible person. I like having some structure in my everyday life, but I am also open-minded and enjoy adapting to new situations. For me, honest and open communication is very important.

In my free time, I love being active. I play tennis, go to the gym and enjoy spending time with my friends. I also really enjoy swimming and was involved in competitive swimming for 11 years. In addition, I love skiing and go skiing with my family every year. It is a tradition that I look forward to every year, as I not only enjoy the sport itself but also the special time we spend together as a family. Sport has taught me a lot about discipline, commitment, responsibility and teamwork. These are qualities that I also try to bring into other areas of my life.

I have already gained experience looking after children by working as a babysitter in my free time. I have cared for children between the ages of 1 and 9 and really enjoyed playing with them, doing creative activities together and simply being part of their lives. In addition, I completed a two-week internship at a kindergarten, where I had many lovely experiences and learned a great deal about working with children. These experiences made me realise how much I enjoy spending time with children and being able to support them as they grow and learn.

I have also completed a first-aid course and I am currently working towards getting my driving licence.

I am very excited about the possibility of becoming part of a host family. I would love to support you in your everyday family life, help take care of your children, get to know Irish culture from a personal perspective and, hopefully, create many wonderful memories together.

For me, being an au pair is not only about travelling to another country. It is about becoming part of a family, sharing great time together, learning from each other and building a relationship based on trust, respect and openness. I would be very happy to find a family with whom I can feel at home while also bringing a little bit of my own culture and personality into your family life.
