Dear host family,
My name is Cathycia Corrine Hanitriniaina, but you can call me Cathy. I am 22 years old. I have one sister and one brother. I come from Madagascar, my home town is Mananara, it is located in the North-East of Madagascar. I moved to the Capital Antananarivo since 2020 because of my study. I am very happy to write this letter because I am excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair and to be part of a loving host family.
And about my family, I come from a small family of five members: my father, my mother, my little sister, my big brother and me. My parents are cloves and vanilla farmers in Mananara; We enjoy spending time together, especially during meals and go to the beach once of month. Growing with them taught me responsibility, respect and the importance of helping each other.
Now I live with my little sister and my little cousin here in Antananarivo, my parents live in our hometown because they work there. We join them every holiday and even if we live in another city, we still have good relation.
I am a student at ISPM (Institut Superieur Polytechnique of Madagascar). I’m in my second year of a Master’s degree in “Trade and Business Administration”. I chose this field because I like exchanging with other people. And after my bachelor degree I chose to improve my English.
I want to be an Au pair because I really love children and I enjoy spending time and helping them to learn or playing and help them to feel safe. Being an Au pair is also a chance for me to discover new culture and learn about it, then show and share our beautiful culture with my host family; also, it will help me to be independent. After that, I would like to improve my English because I will really need it for my future life personal or professional. As a travel enthusiast, being an au pair is a great opportunity for me to discover several countries.
I already have experience with children. I have taken care of my younger cousins and niece in my home town and during three months in my internship at daycare and nursery named KikaNoah. I helped them with homework, played games with them, prepared simple meals, and made sure they are safe and happy with me. I really love this experience because it taught me patience, creativity, and responsibility. Then I feel happy and confident with children because they give me real love without any judgment.
After my Au Pair stay, if I finish my second year of my master’s degree this year, I would like to continue my studies in another country especially Canada; and I want to use what I learned in USA to improve my future career there too. This experience will help me become more independent, confident, and open-minded so I think I will have more opportunity after my Au Pair stay.

The Au pair program will help me grow personally, professionally and responsible because living with new family in new country will teach me not only about their culture and their language but it will teach me how to be independent financially, personally, and safe, without my parents.
I choose USA as my future host country because living in the USA is my childhood dream, because of their culture, diversity, and I can try many things there. Also, I want to visit some country in the USA, like: Hawaii, New York, California and other famous places.
I think a family should choose me as their Au pair because I like helping others and I really like children. I am also patient, kind, responsible, creative. Moreover, I can adapt with new environment, new people easily. I respect family rules and take my responsibility seriously because I have always been disciplined in my own family and my parents is always proud of me for this.
In my free time I like going outside with friend or alone but sometimes I like staying at home and scroll in my phone and watching videos on TikTok or Instagram. I also like playing basketball and reading romance book, also taking pictures. I also like joking with family and children. What makes me unique is my empathy, my gentle personality, and my sincere desire to create warm relationship with my host family.
