I am Katherin, i am 22 years old, and I come from Colombia. I am very excited to be part of the Au Pair program and would love to join your family, supporting you in caring for your children while I learn about your culture. I live in Manizales, a city known for its changing climate, generous people, and beautiful landscapes. My experience working with children comes from my career as a teacher, where I am always surrounded by their joy and energy. Currently, I am responsible for 14 children, alongside my colleague, as we are two teachers in the classroom. In my work, I enjoy designing activities that promote learning in a fun and meaningful way. We engage in gross motor games such as obstacle courses and challenges that help children develop their coordination and strength, while also fostering their confidence and teamwork. I also organize craft activities, such as painting, cutting, and building objects, as well as singing sessions and nursery rhymes, which allow them to develop their creativity and social skills. I love reading stories with them, encouraging their imagination and their love for reading, and I plan playful games that integrate learning numbers and letters. I strive to create an environment where children can learn through play, exploring and discovering at their own pace. It is very rewarding to see their progress and how each day they discover more about themselves and what they are passionate about. I love this profession, as I feel that I contribute to a happy childhood, and it allows me to feel like a child again as I share in their imaginative world.
