Dear host family,

I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.

My name is Gift. I am 19 years old and from the southern part of Nigeria. Imo state to be precise. With my parent, Mrs Charity(58) and sister, Joyce (22), I am living in a house that is located in Lagos State of Nigeria. My father is late and my mother owns a store.

I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my people; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. Always trying to care to the best of my ability.

In my free time, I like to listen to music, go shopping or sing. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and dancing – even though I cannot dance.

At the moment, I work as an attendant for a pharmacy, listen to customers complaint, and attend to them. I enjoy this job very much, because I am able to bond with many of my customers.
I also work as a waitress at a local restaurant.

Four years ago I did an apprenticeship as a hairdresser. Before the apprenticeship I completed my secondary school.

For the past five years, I took care of children of all ages from different families. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine a life without them.

The reason why I want to work as an au pair is care for your precious kids while giving them the most ultimate care as you would love. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to widen my experience as the year go by.

I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you.
