Family's Introduction to Au Pair
Job Description
We are a French-speaking family consisting of Mom Caro (46), Dad Alex (48), and our sons Tibor (17), Aaron (14), and Jules (10).
We enjoy music, sports, travel, nature, and good food.
We live in Witikon (Zurich), near the forest, in a large apartment with a guest room (and its own bathroom) that we would like to offer to a kind and reliable au pair. This person should be willing to help us with our youngest son, who has physical and intellectual disabilities.
This role includes at least:
2 hours of care in the evening after school (6:00–8:00 p.m.) until bedtime. This includes dinner (which we prepare for Jules) and his evening shower.
1 hour in the morning (between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.) to help Jules get up and ready.
Wednesday afternoons from 12:00 p.m. to spend time with him—e.g., going to the playground, playing, listening to music, etc. On some afternoons, he has physiotherapy sessions at the children’s hospital or horse therapy lessons. On those afternoons, our au pair need to accompany him to his therapies.
Additional weekend presence can be discussed together. Depending on family activities, we may ask you to spend time with Jules while we do something with the older brothers. If we all have a relaxed afternoon at home, we expect you to help watch over Jules as if you were a member of the family.
Ideally, you speak German or French, as those are the languages Jules knows—and it would also make communication with Tibor and Aaron easier. But your main focus will be on Jules. Tibor and Aaron, at 17 and 14, are already quite independent and do not need an Au Pair ?.
Jules does not speak and is currently learning to use a tablet (AAC) to express himself—his feelings, wishes, and thoughts.
