Family's Introduction to Au Pair

Au Pair Position – Stockholm (Afternoons & Evenings)

We are a warm, active family based in central Stockholm looking for a responsible, organised, and easy-going au pair to join our household.

We have two children, aged 11 and 15, who are fairly independent but need reliable support in the afternoons, early evenings, and during travel periods. This role suits someone who is confident working independently and enjoys being part of a busy, outdoors-oriented family life.

Key responsibilities include:
• Driving our daughter to and from the stable (we own a horse)
• Assisting with light horse-related routines (previous stable experience is very welcome, but not essential)
• Driving our son to and from ski practice
• Helping the children with homework and school planning
• Preparing healthy, nutritious family meals Monday to Friday
• Grocery shopping and following recipes
• Babysitting and staying with the children when we travel
• Helping occasionally when we entertain guests
• Light assistance with our family dog

Important requirements:
• A valid driver’s licence is essential (please do not apply if you do not drive)
• Comfortable driving regularly in city and suburban environments
• Able to work independently, organised, and proactive
• Happy-go-lucky, calm, flexible, and easy-going personality
• Good level of English (additional languages are a bonus)
• Comfortable around animals (horse and dog)
• Willingness to travel with the family occasionally
• Cooking skills are highly valued — you should be confident preparing simple, wholesome meals and happy to follow recipes

Working hours & salary:
• Salary to be discussed with the right candidate and agreed upon based on experience and responsibilities
• A minimum of 25 hours per week
• Flexible working hours, including some evenings and occasional weekend work
• No morning duties, allowing time for language courses or studies

What we offer:
• Your own private apartment, separate from our accommodation
• Central Stockholm location
• Free mornings for studies, language courses, or personal time
• A respectful, welcoming, and supportive family environment
• The opportunity to experience Swedish life while being part of an active family

If you are responsible, warm, enjoy working with older children, are confident driving, and like cooking healthy food for a family, we would love to hear from you.
