Dear future au pair,
We are Meike & Franz-Philippe (Mum & Dad), and our two sons Felix (16) and Chris (8). We would love to welcome you into our family starting in summer 2026!
A bit about us: Franz-Philippe is an entrepreneur with his own company, and Meike is an optician working part-time. We are a relaxed, open-minded, and fun-loving family with friends from all over the world. We enjoy going out, exploring new places, and having spontaneous adventures with our kids. We like to laugh — a lot.
We live right in the heart of Berlin, in a spacious apartment with a large terrace and garden where the kids play with the neighbours. You get the best of both worlds: the buzz of one of Europe's most vibrant cities right on your doorstep, plus green space at home. Berlin is an incredible place to live as a young person — amazing cultural scene, international community, easy travel across Europe, and a lively au pair network to connect with.
Both boys attend a bilingual school (German/English). At home we speak German, English, and some French, as part of our family is French. Your main focus will be Chris, who is a wonderfully curious and energetic boy. He is creative and loves building with Lego, drawing, board games, and anything to do with magic. He also has a weekly sports activity. Felix is a teenager who is fully independent and does his own thing.
We have been hosting au pairs for many years and know how to create a great experience. Our current and previous au pairs are happy to chat with you and share their perspective — just ask! We believe in treating our au pair as a true member of the family while also respecting your need for independence and personal time.

Your main focus will be caring for Chris (8), a cheerful and creative boy who loves Lego, board games, drawing, and anything to do with magic. Felix (16) is fully independent and does not require care.
Your duties (approx. 25-30 hours/week):
- Pick Chris up from school 2-3 afternoons per week and spend time with him until we get home
- Help Chris with short homework sessions on some days (10-20 minutes)
- Play with Chris on the days we handle school pick-up
- Prepare dinner once a week
- Bring Chris to his weekly sports activity
- Assist with light household tasks that everyone in the family shares
- Occasional Saturday care when Meike works (with a compensating weekday off)
