We have a lovely and large old house in an idyllic neighborhood in Minneapolis. It is walking distance to Lake of the Isles and close to Uptown restaurants and nightlife. There are great bus lines and ample parking. The nearby Walker Museum hosts many cultural events. Minneapolis is a vibrant city known for its kind people and culture, diversity, lakes and recreation. Yes, winter is cold. But it is also sunny and recently, due to climate change, winter has been short. The seasons here are gorgeous and there are festive activities throughout the year. Mom is from Los Angeles, CA and loves it here!

We will have a newborn in mid-July 2025. Ideal start would be August 2025. Main responsibilities would be caring for the baby while mom is unable. Mom has had a heart and kidney transplant and has fluctuating health. Dad works from home, but travels often. Au pair may have ample free time when mom is well and may be asked to perform extra duties when mom is unwell. Flexibility is essential.

Caring for the baby when mom is unwell may require nighttime feedings, bath, and daytime play. Our very sweet and smart daughter will be 6 in May 2025. She will be in school fulltime starting in late August. She may need minimal attention and would likely enjoy helping with the baby. Driver's license may be helpful, but not required. Must speak a language other than English and be comfortable speaking to the baby in that language. Our daughter is learning Spanish and mom speaks from French. We would like our daughter to be exposed to another language and culture as well as the baby.
