Family's Introduction to Au Pair
Hello! We are the Robins family, living in New Jersey, and we are so excited about the possibility of welcoming an au pair into our home. Our family includes two wonderful daughters, Avery (12) and Brynne (14), as well as our beloved pets — Emma (our sweet and gentle Shih Tzu), Millie (our spirited younger Shih Tzu), and Dizzy (our curious cat). Together, we make up a fun, loving, and supportive household.
Our family values kindness, laughter, and connection. We’ve been through some challenges, and we’ve learned how important it is to support each other, keep a sense of humor, and find joy in the little things. We are looking for someone who is warm, dependable, and excited to become part of our daily life.
We live in a cozy, family-friendly area of New Jersey with easy access to parks, shops, and community activities. On weekends, we enjoy a mix of fun outings and relaxed family time — exploring new places, doing crafts, cooking, going out to eat, or just spending time together with our pets. Our home is filled with love (and a little bit of chaos, thanks to Millie & Dizzy!), and we hope you will feel right at home here too.
Because I (mom) live with a disability, having an au pair is especially meaningful to us. You will play a very important role in helping our family run smoothly and reducing the daily stress so that we can focus on spending more quality time together. While part of your role will involve childcare, you will also help with practical household support — cleaning, laundry, groceries, cooking simple meals, and caring for our pets. These tasks will truly make a difference in our everyday lives and allow us to thrive as a family.
With Avery and Brynne, you’ll find two bright, sweet, funny girls who will benefit from a caring, consistent presence. Avery is creative, thoughtful, and at a fun age where she is starting to explore her independence while still enjoying family time. Brynne is sensitive, loving, and has overcome some significant trauma, which has made her the strong girl she is today. Both girls enjoy crafts, music, baking, they are excited about the idea of learning from someone new.
We see hosting an au pair not only as practical support, but also as a cultural exchange and relationship. We hope to share our family’s traditions, introduce you to NJ, and learn about your culture, background, and traditions as well. We want you to feel like part of the family, not just someone who helps out — included in meals, outings, and celebrations.
Our ideal au pair is someone who is caring, reliable, and adaptable. Patience and a sense of humor are always appreciated! You don’t need to be perfect — we believe in learning together, open communication, and creating a warm, supportive environment for everyone.

• Childcare: before school, help waking and getting ready, after-school help, Saturday date night sitter
• Light housekeeping: tidying, laundry, dishes
• Cooking: menu planning, simple family meals, snacks, school lunches
• Groceries: organizing, shopping + putting away
• Pet care: feeding, water, letting dogs out, walking them
• General household help - mom is disabled and at times will need more help than others
