Dear Future Au Pair,
Greetings from Seattle! Welcome to our family! We are a fun loving, relaxed family who enjoys quality time with friends and family. Although we lived most of our lives in the US, I have traveled and lived around the world in Taiwan, India, Nairobi, Brazil, Argentina, Japan and other countries and loved learning about new cultures and people. Now that it is harder to move from country to country with two kids, we are excited to host you and share our culture with you, learn more about your culture, and give our son Adrian and Amelia a chance to experience your culture too.
My husband Allen and I both are passionate about improving healthcare and both work in Healthcare Technologies. Allen works from home as a Machine Learning Engineering. I also work at home as a Product Manager, managing a team to develop developing accessible healthcare technologies.
Adrian is a sweet, caring, and independent boy who loves to smile, talk, sing, and run. He loves soccer, cars, building things, using his imagination, and playing. We always encourage him to be curious, kind, happy, and brave, and he has taken on many of those qualities already. Amelia is curious, talkative, and a strong girl already – she doesn’t let Adrian take her toys!
We live in a community a stone's throw away from Seattle. It is a perfect place to live because we are very near lakes, trails, and mountains but also very close to the hustle and bustle of Seattle. Our community is a very short drive away from restaurants, groceries, and all the amenities of life. There are many great universities such as University of Washington, Bellevue College, and Sammamish Central University between 10-30 minutes driving from our community. We love living in Seattle and hope you will enjoy this great city in the Pacific Northwest also.
A typical week for you would consist of around 8-9 hour days Monday-Friday while we work and a few hours 1-2 weekends a month. We are looking for a loving, patient, and caring au pair our kids get out of bed in the morning, send/pick-up Adrian from daycare, plan and do activities with Amelia, feed/change/bathe/and play with the kids. It is important for us the Au Pair actively engages and helps the kids grow through various educational and fun activities that peeks their curiosity and positive encouragement, and hope that this are your values for raising children too.
On weekends, we like to hang out with friends and family or explore outdoors. We know that you may want to do things in your free time, but will always welcome you on our nature outings or gatherings at our home.
Our ideal au pair is someone who will love and care for our kids as if they are her own. She should be passionate about helping our kids, learn, and experience the world while being their best friend. Because we will be fully trusting our kids in your care, we hope that you will be independent and mature also. We believe in honesty and open communication. Never hesitate to come to us if you need to ask a question or you need our help in some way - even if you feel more comfortable texting than speaking about the concern or question.
