Hello from the Solano Family.
We hope that you will be interested in coming to Fayetteville, North Carolina to become an au pair for our high energy, happy, curious, active, and handsome son. My name is Chris and I work full time as a Professor of Accounting. Ada, my wife does not work and is a stay at home housewife and mother but is studying English as a second language part time at the local community college. We have an amazing 4 year old boy Adrian who is diagnosed on the spectrum of Autism. Adrian is highly functional, curious, incredibly intelligent, and happy. Adrian is at school 5 days a week. Adrian is generally happy and a bit sensitive, he gets emotional when he’s tired (or hungry) and will sometimes be a little difficult to handle. But generally he is very smart , loving and non-stop in motion. He loves water, being outside in the sand, his extensive playroom, and his tablet. Adrian can be a little bit nervous around strangers and will need some time to get used to you (it took our last au-pairs only a day or two!).
We would like you to care for Adrian between 40-45 hours per week. This would include helping him get ready for pre-school (breakfasts, getting dressed etc.) and assisting Ada in taking him there by car until you are completely comfortable taking him yourself. In the afternoon we would like you to pick him up and then care for him until we get home, Ada is finished with school at noon, and I arrive in the evening around 6pm.
Normally we eat dinner around 6pm and Ada is an amazing cook. On the day that Adrian does not go to preschool he either goes to the park and does things at home or occasionally has a play date with a friend. Our suburb is a residential area about 90 minutes from the beach or mountains. Fayetteville is 65 minutes from Raleigh, NC and 90 minutes from Charlotte, NC where you can find everything you could dream of American from professional US sports team to world class dining and entertainment. There are loads of cafes, restaurants and a shopping mall is easily accessible too. About 4km away is a shopping centre with cinemas and restaurants. On the weekends we try to do activities like swimming at the pool, taking walks, and going to play centres. We like to travel occasionally on weekends and once a year we go both the Dominican Republic and Denver Colorado to visit family and if you want we would like to take you with us. We are a warm and loving family who look forward to sharing our home and life with you!
