Introduction
Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my profile and learn more about me.
My name is Obedience Situmbeko, and I am a young, responsible, and caring individual from Lusaka, Zambia. I recently completed my secondary education at Kamwala Secondary School, where I served as a School Prefect and Class Monitor. These leadership roles helped me develop responsibility, discipline, communication skills, and the ability to work well with people from different backgrounds.
I am interested in becoming an Au Pair because I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and helping them learn, grow, and feel supported. Over the past four years, I have gained valuable experience through babysitting and tutoring children. Through these experiences, I learned patience, creativity, and the importance of creating a safe and positive environment where children can thrive. I have helped children with homework, educational activities, daily routines, and recreational activities while ensuring their well-being and safety.
Family is very important to me. During my final year of high school, I experienced the loss of my mother, which was one of the most challenging moments of my life. Although it was a difficult experience, it taught me resilience, gratitude, and the importance of love, support, and family connections. It also deepened my appreciation for the role parents play in shaping and guiding their children. Because of this, I understand how important it is for children to feel cared for, encouraged, and valued.
Outside of childcare, I enjoy reading, learning languages, listening to music, volunteering, and participating in community activities. I recently participated in a Church Youth Camporee and helped renovate Tsonga Community School through the Chilanga District Adventist Youth Project. These experiences strengthened my teamwork skills, sense of service, and commitment to helping others.
I am also passionate about learning about different cultures and languages. Currently, I am learning German and Russian through Duolingo and hope to continue improving my language skills while living abroad. I believe cultural exchange is one of the most rewarding aspects of the Au Pair experience because it allows both the Au Pair and the host family to learn from one another.
As a person, I would describe myself as respectful, honest, patient, hardworking, adaptable, and easy to get along with. I am generally organized, maintain a positive attitude, and enjoy contributing to a warm and welcoming home environment. I do not smoke, I have a valid passport, basic First Aid training, and I am available to start as soon as possible.
As your Au Pair, I would do my best to be a dependable and caring role model for your children while respecting your family's values, routines, and parenting style. My goal is not only to help with childcare responsibilities but also to become a trusted and positive member of your family.
Thank you for considering my profile. I would be delighted to learn more about your family and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to the possibility of becoming part of your family's journey and creating wonderful memories together.
Warm regards,
Obedience Situmbeko.
