My name is Ilona. I am 22 years old, from western Ukraine, namely from the small town of Zalishchyky. I graduated in international relations and am planning to get a second degree in psychology. I have now moved to Spain and live and work near Madrid.

My parents have been living in Spain for 18 years, so I used to come to visit them during the summer holidays. And like every teenager, I wanted to earn my pocket money during the holidays, and that's how my experience as a nanny began, at the age of 17. My first experience was with a boy who was six months old at the time, whose parents were Ukrainian, so there were no problems with communication and work. I worked all summer holidays and realised that this job was not only a job for me but also a great time. My next experience was in July 2021, when my mother's workplace was looking for a nanny for a 4-year-old girl. It was harder than working with a small child because the language barrier was very high. The important thing was to speak only English with Alejandra, the girl's name, only. And to teach her my mother tongue as much as possible. It was difficult, but I still remember with a smile how I invented and searched for various games that helped to develop and interest Alejandra in learning English. At the end, she knew a lot of simple English topics and even learnt a poem in Ukrainian, and I improved my Spanish. So it was a great experience.I moved to Spain in September 2023 and started working as a nanny again, first with two boys, one of whom was 6 months old and the other one was a year and 8 months old. As I had experience with children, it was a great and easy experience for me. But since they moved to another part of Spain, I had to finish my work, but we are still on good terms with their parents and when they come here I visit them. Currently, I work for a boy who is six months old. I started working when he was 2 months old. It was very scary at the beginning, but now I am very happy and feel part of this family.
I also had the experience of volunteering in Istanbul, teaching English to people who did not know it all. I was a volunteer with the Aisec programme from April 2021 to May 2021. It was a great experience and also a great test of my capabilities.

As for my personal qualities, I am a very responsible person who is always on the move, who wants to explore this world to the maximum. I am very open to new opportunities. I love to read, and I am fond of psychology, and probably like every girl I adore romantic novels. Sports is also an important part of my life, I regularly go to the gym, and before moving to Spain I was fond of tennis. I love travelling, both with friends and on my own, it inspires me and helps me to recover.
