Hi future host family!

My name is Carla, and I am a 18-year-old girl who is looking for her first au pair experience this summer. I have just started a degree in sports science in Spain and want to live an authentic month with you before starting my 2nd year at university in September.

Since I was 6 years old, every summer, unknown travelers from all around the world have become part of our family. Each one taught us English, French, and German (they tried), and most importantly, they shared culture with us, moments and time. All of them left being part of our family and with a piece of us.

I believe now is my turn to live this amazing experience and make the dream of the young Carla come true.

I am from a region of Spain called Catalonia, and I live here with my parents (Dani and Cris), my little sister Mariona, and a dog called Anuk. My father is a policeman, and my mother works at an office. We love spending time together and traveling with a caravan.

I am a sporty and healthy person who loves nature (especially the sea) and all kinds of art. If I had to describe myself, I would say I am a truly energetic, funny, and dedicated person who adores taking care of others and herself.

I have studied all the primary and secondary school in my town. I passed my university entrance exams, so now I'm studying a degree I'm passionate about: sports science. I was lucky enough to be accepted in Lleida, the closest city to my hometown, so I can continue living at home.

I definitely define myself as an artistic person. I have practiced artistic skating since I was a little kid, and I have taken part in national competitions recently. This sport has stolen my heart, but I like practicing other ones too. I love open water swimming, volleyball, basketball, and surfing. In my free time I adore painting, contemporary dancing, making crafts, cooking... I love meeting people and sharing memories with them, spending time with kids, playing games, making excursions in the mountains, or diving in the sea.

I have been babysitting for a cuple of years now, and recently started coaching young skaters . Now I am looking for my first au pair experience!

Here in Catalonia, we speak another language apart from Spanish; it is called Catalan. But both of them are my first language because I speak them daily. I also speak fluent English (certificate B2) and a bit of French. I have had English-speaking au pairs since I was 6, and I am so grateful for that because now I have the opportunity to live the same.

Other important info: I am intolerant to gluten; this means I can't eat wheat. I have been on a gluten-free diet since I was 10. Fortunately, nowadays there are plenty of products that can substitute the typical pasta or bread. So I can eat normal but gluten-free :)
