Dear Host Family,

My name is Chane, and I am very excited about this journey I get to go on with you!
I grew up in an Afrikaans-speaking household but I can speak English fluently. I only have fond memories growing up, seeing as it was in a house filled with love and affection. And, ultimately, that is the same environment I wish to create for my host family!
I absolutely love animals and love nature, and any new adventures. I have no preferences when it comes to where the family lives but do enjoy traveling so I hope it is easily accessible to public transport.

A BIT ABOUT MY CHILDCARE EXPERIENCES:
I babysat many children during my high school career and I had the honor of working at Dr. Suess Daycare in Secunda. I worked with an age group of 1 to 2-year-olds and my duties included making bottles, changing diapers, making sure they were well nourished and of course loving them, and standing in for their parents at the time being. Something about witnessing a child takes their first steps has always warmed my heart!

I au paired for 3 wonderful children aged 4,8 and 10 ( Peter , Sarah and Hannah ) in Amsterdam and made many fond memories during my time there . My duties included making lunchboxes and taking and getting them from school via bakfiets ( I really enjoyed this ) . Taking them to their extra activities and occasionally making dinner . We also enjoyed exploring some museums and going to parks !

After my year in the Netherlands I au paired for a loving family in Koksijde belgium where I took care of little Janne ( 2 years ) we went to the beach and I changed her diapers and played games with her and we often went to Plopsaland and made paper flowers to sell on the beach ! I also often cooked for this family and did some light housework .

I currently work as a waitress and receptionist on a lion farm in the Freestate and enjoy my job very much !

In school, I received various awards in school for drama and best speaker and was known by my friends as someone with a bubbling personality! I was a grade leader in grades 8-10 and in matric, I graduated with 3 distinctions and an endorsement for a bachelor’s degree.

I have many goals for my future and one is to fulfill my full potential as an au pair, and of course to travel and experience more of the world! My ultimate goal is to one day become a flight attendant. This is a perfect and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me as more of my hobbies include exploring new places and trying new foods and going to festivals and new towns with my best friend Megan who currently lives in Belgium .

I absolutely fell inlove with Europe during my two years that I have already spent there and I will most definitely make the utter most of this opportunity once again . I also believe I have the necessary experience, heart, and personality to be an above adequate au pair and I feel like this should not go to waste. I have so much love and passion in my heart for children and I am looking forward to sharing that love and passion with my host family and become an extended family member of your household! People describe me as trustworthy, reliable, and kind-hearted. I love to help out with anything and like to do everything to the best of my abilities. I like to be on time and I am very sensible. I would like to see myself as someone with a bubbly personality and I love to meet new people and learn new things. I cherish all the lessons that I learn along the way and let them be the building block of my future.
I am extremely dedicated and whenever I put my mind to something I will usually achieve it this shows in my leadership I had in high school as well as my academics. I am very loving and this shows in my family life and in my childcare experience. I see myself also as selfless and brave and this shows in my ability to make huge decisions like moving to another country.
