Dear Host Family,
I originate from a small coastal town called Gansbaai situated at the southern point of Africa. Gansbaai is part of the Western Cape of South Africa and well known for their great white shark viewing. Last year I got the opportunity to work and live in the Netherlands for one year as an Au Pair for two children. I'm currently back in South Africa.
A bit more personal about myself is-
My mother and biological father are divorced. I live with my mother and steph father. My steph father was part of my life since I was 7 years old. I have no contact with my biological father, because he left us when I was four years old, but luckily my mother was there to support us. I have three brothers, the eldest one is 6 years older than me, the youngest one is 1 year younger than me and I have a twin brother. My twin brother and I have a really close bond. We are a big happy family and always want to best for each other.
I have a soft spot for children. Entering a new environment always allow me to see myself, others and live in a totally different perspective. It also allow me to live independently and work out of my comfort zone away from home and my country. I want to make a positive contribution to the children's up growing and development.
I will be a great Au Pair because I have a lot of patience when it comes to children and are very good at problem solving.
I am a very outgoing and active person. I love to play netball.
I am a sucker for hiking in the mountains. In my free time I take part of Mountain Bike Cycling competitions and also do park runs on Saturdays. I also like to write when I have time on hand.
Another reason why I want to do Au Pair work is to learn more about the Dutch culture and their way of preparing food.
