My name is Charlyn, a 24-year-old from the Philippines, and I am excited to apply for the position of au pair. I am a graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Industrial Design, which has nurtured my creativity, patience, and attention to detail. My passion for painting, sketching, and digital design has also allowed me to develop a keen eye for aesthetics and problem-solving skills, which I believe will be a unique asset in engaging with children through creative activities. Additionally, I enjoy crafting, exploring different art techniques, and creating DIY projects, which can be fun and educational activities to share with your children.
As the third of six siblings in a close-knit family, I have grown up with a strong sense of responsibility and resilience. From an early age, I witnessed my oldest brother step up as the breadwinner after our parents separated when I was just 10 years old. This situation instilled in me a deep understanding of family dynamics, empathy, and the importance of supporting one another. I am now responsible for managing our household’s finances and overseeing the well-being and education of my younger siblings, who are currently in high school and university. This role has equipped me with a wide range of practical skills, including:
Household Management: Proficient in cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, grocery shopping, and organizing schedules to ensure the smooth running of the household.
Budgeting: Managing finances responsibly to meet everyone’s needs and prioritize essential expenses.
Leadership and Mentorship: Acting as a guardian and role model has taught me how to communicate effectively, foster trust, and provide guidance that helps shape the personal growth of my siblings.
These experiences have not only made me adaptable and self-reliant but have also taught me the importance of patience, problem-solving, and nurturing a supportive and positive environment. I am confident that these skills are transferable to my role as an au pair, where I can contribute to a loving and educational atmosphere for your children. I am also eager to introduce them to new creative activities, foster their curiosity, and encourage them to express themselves through art and play.
