Dear Host Family,
My name is Athena. I’m a 24-year-old from the Philippines with a degree in Nutrition, currently working as a public health nutritionist.

Outside of work, I am an aspiring endurance athlete, and I stay active through cycling, running, and weightlifting. I’m also drawn to exploring new places, often on foot or by bike.
My background in nutrition has also shaped the way I experience food. I enjoy trying cuisines from different countries, not only out of curiosity but also because I understand the science behind what I eat. I find joy in discovering ways to enjoy food that are both balanced and satisfying, which makes exploring new cuisines even more meaningful to me.

I'm the middle of three siblings, and my youngest brother is nine years younger than me. That age gap meant I became something of a second mother to him growing up. By the time I was nine, I already knew how to change diapers, prepare simple meals, wash dishes, and help around the house. Being a big sister taught me responsibility early, and those habits have stayed with me. To this day, cleaning and staying organized with my space are genuinely how I unwind after a long day of work. My mother, who loves to keep our house neat, always said our minds work best in a tidy space, and I've found that to be true.

Over the years, I've built a life around caring for others. I've been a big sister, an aunt and private tutor to my nieces, a nutrition educator for the children in my community, and a dietitian working with patients in hospitals. I'm confident I can bring that same dedication to your family—as someone who is hardworking, eager to learn, and ready to be a positive presence in your home.
