Dear host family,
My name is Abegail. I am 23 years old. I am single, and I don’t have any children. I am a positive, kind, flexible, and adaptable girl and have the ability to multitask, and I am emotionally mature.
In my current job as a Nanny and Housemaid my duties and responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors around the house. Ensure that all kitchen appliances are cleaned and maintained perfectly, wash and dry dishes and make sure that they are put away in designated places, wash and iron clothes, change linen and make beds along with tidying up bedrooms and living rooms, empty waste bins and ensure that all waste is properly put away, clean bathrooms and replenish supplies. Scrub stains and mildew from surfaces. Cook food for dinner. Preparing breakfast. Buying groceries. Dust and polish furniture and equipment. Sort clothing. Preparing lunch boxes for children, getting them ready for school. Playing with and taking care of children, helping them with dressing, bathing, feeding them, and other needs.
Preparing meals/snacks for the children in the afternoon. Reading to and with the children, helping with homework. Going to the park or zoo, arts and crafts, games, educational things, of course in a fun way, and anything the children enjoy and their interests and hobbies. Tidying children's play areas. Taking care of pets. I am taking care of 4 children. Ages: 11 years old, 10 years old, 9 years old and 5years old.
I know how to drive a motorcycle. I know also how to ride a bicycle. Some of the Filipino dishes I can cook are: Adobo, mechado, sinigang, beef steak, spaghetti, carbonara, pancit, champorado, sopas, lugaw, graham, fruit and macaroni salad, siomai and siopao.
I believe that becoming an Au pair will not only give me a chance to gain more experience working with children and family but will also allow me to build more relationships with people from other cultures that I can bring back with me to my home country after being an Au pair in Europe.
