Dear Family,

My name is Lyrish. A new first time Au Pair. I am a 20-year-old (female) Filipina Student. I am about to complete my degree in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science here at CENTRO ESCOLAR UNIVERSITY of Manila. 

I am a child out of wedlock and for that, I have lived with my Grandparents since I was born, I have always helped them with different household chores, and have pushed me to become an independent and adaptable to environment woman.

In about a year or two I plan to pursue Law School, but I have yet to decide on my future area of specialization. So, at the moment, I would like to take some time out of academics to have a different life experience and to have time to calmly reflect on my future academic/professional orientation. To this end, I think spending a year abroad would be particularly interesting.

My first language is, of course, Filipino, and I am also fluent in English. I started learning English in primary school, and it was also the language of instruction in the secondary school I attended. I have in addition been taking courses taught in English at university.

When it comes to childcare experience, I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts. During my Junior High school years, I volunteered in different organizations where I also organized for them and took part in recreational indoor and outdoor activities: we sang, danced, played games, role played, drew, painted, and narrated stories. We also visited the public library, and the local animal park, went out on picnics, and a camping trip.

When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy most of the time being outside, being with my friends, going for walks, visiting places I have not been to, and reading a good book. I also enjoy playing tennis, which has become my favorite sport ever since. Did I already mention that I love to read and write? At my university, I am one of the Feature writing journalists and also part of our Technical Support team during different events.

As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for at least 6 - 12 months. Lastly, although I am quite flexible, I prefer working hours that allow me to attend online classes at GMT+8 Time.
