Dear Host Family,
My name is Ruby joy, my family and close friends call me joy. I am 24 years old and was born in Guimaras Island, one of the provinces in the Philippines. I can speak English and Filipino as the national language of the Philippines.
I am a friendly person as they say, fun to be with, bubbly, trustworthy, sweet and most of all, God fearing. I am artistic, creative and passionate in everything I do and can really work under pressure. I enjoy grocery shopping, cooking and gardening, I am also a pet lover and currently own dogs and cats.
And I have so much room for improvements.
For my educational background and work history, firstly, I am highschool graduate and due to financial problem I was not able to step in College. I worked in Dubai as Domestic helper. Where my main task is the house and the kids —I took care of 2 kids, ages 4 and 9. After my contract I go back in Philippines. I heard about Au pair program and so I decided I want to explore more and challenge more my self—I wanted to be an Au pair.
It is not an easy journey finding a Host family, so while I am searching and don’t find a match yet here. I applied to find another job to help me provide for my family and eventually worked as a house keeping in a hotel in my city, also I was able to work as a private caregiver before. I also have knowledge in first aid and got my certificate in basic life support training from Philippine Red Cross, an independent and autonomous non-government organization tasked to help the government in the humanitarian field. In the weekends I volunteered in one of the organizations in my city, I work giving child care support at Department of social welfare and development. (DSWD) is the Executive Department of the Philippine Government responsible for the protection of the social welfare of rights of Filipinos and to promote the social development.
In summer time I’m an on call baby sitter because the children don’t go to school I’m taking care of them when their parents is at work. I’m taking care 3 children ages 2 ,5,7. This is not new to me because during my younger years, I used to take care my two younger brothers when my parents were busy making a living.
I am also an active member of my community, I help and coordinate with my church and baranggay if they have a community programs such as feeding programs and other activities.
At the moment, I am also earning by tutoring and baby sitting my neighborhood kids.
These experiences are the reasons why I’ve become matured and disciplined and know how to deal with big responsibilities. I think my child-care and household skills will make me a great Au pair and would generally help better my skills. If you would give me the chance to be part of your family, I would be extremely grateful. I hope we can develop a good relationship, would love to learn about your culture, and live harmoniously as a family member. As an aspiring au pair, I'm excited to embark on a journey that combines childcare, cultural immersion, and personal growth. I'm passionate about nurturing young minds, creating meaningful connections, and exploring new families and traditions. With a warm and caring approach, I'm ready to support families and learn from them, while sharing my own experiences and perspectives. I'm looking forward to a rewarding experience that will broaden my horizons, challenge me, and allow me to make a positive impact on the lives of the children I care for.
