Introduction
My name is Donna Plame . I am 30 years old and from the small city of General Santos in the Philippines.
I belong in a harmonious family. I have a good relationship with my parents and with my siblings also. I am the eldest in the family, so I assume the responsibility if my parents are not around. I serve as a role model to my siblings. My family is a typical Filipino family. With my parents, Romeo (57) a Seaferrer, Nellie (54) a housewife.I have 5 Siblings three nephews and two niece. My sisters are Carla (29) an undergrad student, Meonie (27) an undergrad student also, Aliah (26) college graduate. My brothers are Jem Romeo (23) taking up Medtech 3st year college and Jerume (18) a Grade 12 student, my nephews are Philip (11) a 2nd grade student, Timothy (11) a 2nd grade student also, Sebastian (8) and my two niece Sharia (5) and Tatiana (3). Overall, we are a pretty large family.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, open-minded, polite, helpful, ambitious, creative and patient who tries to make the best out of every situation. Besides I am always punctual, and I am very organized. In my free time I like to spend time with my family and friends who are also supporting me. To be honest, I am not really into sports but I love going to the beach even if I don’t know how to swim, I would also like trying new sports. Another interest of mine is singing, even though I am not a good singer. About my education, I just graduated for Diploma in Midwifery. Besides that, I possess the valuable CPR First-Aid Certification from the Philippine Red Cross and also, I have a Driver’s License.
I like spending time with my family, especially my nephews and nieces. I'd like to play with them and cuddle for a day. When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my family and friends, going for walks, visiting places I have not been to, and visiting beautiful beaches.
Now I would like to tell you something about my childcare experience. I grew up in a settlement where many children lived so I was always in contact with children. The first experience in the field of childcare I gained is at the age of 11 and at this time.
I looked after my younger brother (Jerume) when he was young because my mother is busy doing the household chores. And also, I have three nephews and two nieces, I looked after them in my free time, when they were infants and turning toddlers. I take care of them if I am not busy in school and work or when my sisters are busy or sick.
I would love to become your next Au Pair because I love children and enjoy spending time with them. I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that being like a big sister for your children comes along with responsibilities for them and it will not always be just play and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to master more difficult situations for instance when the kids are tired or don’t want to listen to me. The reason why I want to go to a foreign country as an au pair is that I want to get to know the Foreign people ways of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my English skills as well and to learn other language.
Living with me is really easy as I am not a demanding person. I do respect that the house is your house and that I have followed your house rules. If something works not quite as it should, I prefer to talk instead of ignoring things. I expect that in the first couple of days I can’t sleep because of the new environment. But I am sure that I will adapt to the new tasks and daily routine quickly and become a big help for you.
I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you.
Yours Sincerely,
Donna Plame
