Introduction
My name is Ruby Mae Palma, I am 26 years old, and I come from the Philippines. I graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in English. Teaching has always been my passion, and before fully pursuing my professional teaching career, I am eager to continue my journey as an Au Pair—an experience that allows me to grow personally, culturally, and professionally while caring for children.
I am often described as cheerful, caring, and full of positive energy. I enjoy staying active and creative in my daily life—whether I am experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, playing volleyball or badminton, spending time with my dogs, or drawing, which is one of my greatest passions. Creating and sharing joy, especially with children, truly makes me happy.
I have previous Au Pair experience in the Netherlands, where I cared for two boys aged 5 and 7. My responsibilities included preparing meals, helping with daily routines, engaging the children in fun and educational activities, and managing household chores with proactiveness and efficiency. My contract ended in June 2025, after which I returned to the Philippines to spend time with my family. This experience strengthened my independence, responsibility, and ability to adapt to a new culture and household.
What truly sets me apart is my genuine love for children and my extensive experience with them. I come from a large, close-knit family, so I have always been surrounded by younger siblings, cousins, and nephews. In addition, I worked as a kindergarten teacher and daycare worker for six months, caring for many children of different personalities and needs. Through these experiences, I developed strong patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of how to guide children with kindness, structure, and responsibility.
I believe the Au Pair program is a wonderful opportunity to broaden my understanding of cultural diversity while contributing positively to a family’s daily life. More than just childcare, I hope to be a reliable support for parents and a caring role model for children.
