My name is Jolena, and I am from the beautiful town of Bilar, Bohol, Philippines. I am 27 years old and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Bohol Island State University. I am an optimistic, caring, and responsible young woman who loves helping others and learning about new cultures. Becoming an Au Pair has always been one of my dreams because I truly enjoy working with children and being part of a loving family environment where I can both share and grow.
I come from a close-knit Filipino family, where respect, kindness, and compassion are deeply valued. Growing up, I was surrounded by children, as I often helped take care of my younger cousins, nieces, and nephews. Through these experiences, I developed patience, understanding, and a genuine love for nurturing and guiding children. I have learned how to balance fun and responsibility—whether it’s helping with schoolwork, preparing snacks, organizing games, or simply listening to their stories.
In addition to my childcare experience, my background in Hospitality Management has helped me develop important life skills such as organization, time management, cleanliness, and attention to detail. During my studies and internships, I learned to work efficiently under pressure, maintain a positive attitude, and provide excellent service with a smile. These qualities, I believe, are also essential in being a great Au Pair and a reliable member of a host family.
At home, I love spending my free time cooking, reading, traveling, and trying new recipes. I enjoy creating a clean and comfortable space, and I’m always willing to help with household tasks like cleaning, laundry, and light cooking. I can also prepare Filipino dishes and would be happy to share our culture through food and stories. I also like doing creative activities such as drawing, singing, and organizing small learning games for children to make their days fun and educational.
I would describe myself as kind-hearted, trustworthy, cheerful, and adaptable. I am someone who can easily adjust to new surroundings and different lifestyles. I love meeting people from different cultures and learning new languages. I can speak English fluently and understand basic Tagalog and Cebuano, and I am very eager to improve my communication skills even further while staying abroad.
My main reason for wanting to become an Au Pair is to experience cultural exchange while contributing something meaningful to a family. I want to assist parents in caring for their children and maintaining a harmonious home while also learning from their way of life. Being part of a new environment excites me, as it allows me to grow as an individual and gain a deeper understanding of different traditions and values.
I dream of becoming an Au Pair in Europe, particularly in Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden or France, because I admire how families their value education, work-life balance, and respect for others. I also wish to explore their beautiful places, learn their languages, and embrace their customs. I believe that this program is not only a job opportunity but also a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will help me develop independence, confidence, and a global perspective.
