Introduction

Dear Host Family,

Hello! My name is Javie Al Azucenas, and I am from the Philippines. I am very happy for the opportunity to introduce myself to your family and share my interest in becoming your au pair.

I am the eldest daughter in my family, and I have two younger siblings whom I helped raise from the time they were only three months old. Because my mother worked overseas as an OFW, I took on a very important role in our family. I became like a second mother to my siblings — caring for them, protecting them, guiding them, and being there for them as they grew up. I was not only their older sister but also their first teacher. I helped them learn new things, supported them with their studies, taught them good values, and encouraged them to become responsible and confident individuals.

Growing up, I learned the true meaning of responsibility at an early age. As the eldest child, I had to balance many responsibilities while continuing my studies. I had to juggle going to school, helping take care of our family farm, preparing meals, doing household chores, and making sure my younger siblings were well cared for. I learned how to manage my time, organize my priorities, and complete my responsibilities with dedication and patience.

Aside from being a student, I was also a working student because I wanted to help provide for my family and support my siblings. Balancing work, school, and family responsibilities taught me independence, perseverance, and the importance of commitment. These experiences shaped me into a hardworking, adaptable, and responsible person.

Because of my background, taking care of children and managing different responsibilities is not something new to me. I have already experienced the daily commitment of caring for children, creating a safe environment for them, guiding them through their learning, and making sure their needs are met. I understand that every child is different and that they need patience, attention, encouragement, and love.

I enjoy spending time with children through activities such as playing games, reading stories, helping with homework, teaching new skills, doing creative activities, and sharing meaningful moments with them. I believe my experience as an older sister, caregiver, teacher, and provider has prepared me to become a dependable and caring au pair.

I would describe myself as kind, patient, responsible, hardworking, and adaptable. I am excited to experience a new culture, learn your language, and become a positive part of your family’s daily life. I would also love to share my Filipino culture, traditions, food, and the values that have shaped me.

I understand that being an au pair is not only about helping with childcare but also about becoming a trusted and respectful member of the family. I am willing to learn your family’s routines, respect your expectations, and communicate openly to build a strong relationship with your family.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my introduction. I would be grateful for the opportunity to become part of your family and provide your children with the same care, guidance, and love that I have always given to my own siblings.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family.

Warm regards,
Javie Al Azucenas
