Dear Host Family,

My name is Aquila, I’m 18 years old, and I come from the peaceful coastal town of Swakopmund, Namibia. I’m so excited to introduce myself to you and possibly become a part of your family as your au pair.

I've always loved working with children. Their curiosity, creativity, and honesty bring me so much joy. Growing up, I helped care for younger cousins and family friends, and I’ve always felt naturally responsible and nurturing. I find happiness in guiding, playing with, and supporting children in their day-to-day lives.

One of my biggest inspirations for becoming an au pair is my sister, who was also an au pair. Although she’s no longer in the program, her stories about the bonds she created with her host family and how much she learned and grew during that experience really motivated me. Seeing how it changed her life gave me the confidence to take the same step.

I speak English and Afrikaans, and I’ve completed Grade 11, which is the main finishing level for high school in Namibia. I am now ready to step into the world, experience another culture, and take care of children in a way that feels like family. I believe being an au pair is more than a job—it’s a chance to share love, responsibility, and create memories that last a lifetime.

One thing about me is my love for music—especially singing. I sing every day. Music lifts my mood and helps me connect with people of all ages, especially kids. I’d be thrilled to bring some of that fun energy into your home, whether it's through singing games, calming lullabies, or fun songs during playtime.

As a person, I’m calm, joyful, and hardworking. I value communication and structure, and I’m always open to learning. I know how important it is to have someone reliable caring for your children, and I will do my best to support you while keeping your kids safe, happy, and engaged.

When my au pair year comes to an end, I plan to return to Namibia and continue studying—possibly in early childhood education or something related to music and youth development. I hope this year abroad will help me grow more independent, confident, and ready for my next chapter.
