Dear host family!
Hello! My name is Andrea Mauricio, but you can call me Andy.
I want to tell you a little about my life at this moment, I'm 26 years old and I live in Mexico, in Mexico city. I studied Design and Visual Communication in the UNAM, I graduated in 2020. I and Arts teacher, currently I’m working on the TV channel, UNO TV, doing designs for the stelar news.
I have a little family, my mom Maria de Jesus Garcia Sosa, she took care of my sister and me since we were little, she showed me her strength and how much she loves us. Although I love my family so much, two years ago I made the decision to live alone and become independent. Currently I rent a small apartment and I am doing my best to be a functional adult.
Since I am independent I have more time for my hobbies, on my days off I like to see new places, ride on bike, visit museum exhibitions and take lots of photos. I love getting together with my friends, they are an important part of my life, although I can't do it often because of my job. When we go out, we have a coffee and enjoy the time with a long conversation. Another of my interests is reading. I love to read books and get into magical and unknown worlds.
In previous years I have periodically taken care of children that I knew from neighbors and friends of friends. The children follow me a lot and it is easy for me to form a relationship with them, depending on the age, are the activities we do together, however, I always try to encourage them the reading, as I consider it very important for their overall growth. Based on the knowledge I acquired in my career I have also made drawing courses for children and beginners, "Playing to be an artist", I like that children can develop their own personality through their drawings, I also believe that it is usefull for their creativity and emotional management, drawing is the most transparent way to express your soul. This is also very important to open up and socialize at an early age.
My dream of being an Au Pair began when I was in high school, because in school they told us about cultural exchange programs between countries, and I loved the idea of traveling to know other places, getting to know knew cultures and be part of them; so after finishing my studies and having enough experience here I am, wanting to know your country and your family, I would love to be part of it and have fun together.
Now I want to tell you about my life if you accept me, I am sure we will have a great year with many games and lots of learning, I will teach you a little about the Mexico’s culture, food, traditions and holidays, we will share birthdays, important dates and new experiences, I want to see the children grow up and go for walks together, I would like you to consider me part of your family and I would like to consider you part of mine. Being in the United States I want to continue studying English, go to the gym, meet people and make new friends. I would like to be with a small family, because I have a small family and I feel more comfortable when I relate to few people, and also this way I can pay more attention to the children.
With this experience in my life, when I return to my country I would like to apply to a higher position in the TV channel where I work (UNO TV), I would also like to start a master's degree specialized on teaching and the functioning of creativity thinking within my degree as a graphic designer all this thanks to the experience I will acquire with you, I'm excited to learn about other perspectives of parenting and education.
