Introduction
Hi Host family!
I want to tell you a little bit about myself, what I’ve lived through, what I like and what I dislike. Well, my name is Melissa Sifuentes, I’m 21 years old and I’m Mexican. I’m currently studying engineering in manufacture and I only need to turn in my thesis to finish the major. I’m a woman with high expectations and with many goals ahead of me.
My parents are Cesar and Jasmine. I currently live with my dad and I have two younger siblings; my brother Cesar who is 18 years old and Samanta who is 20 years old. The three of us are close and we love each other very much. I also have a cat whose named Michigan; she’s the baby of the house.
About my experience in taking care of kids, I was encouraged to do this because I use to always love spending time playing or taking care of them. It entertains me a lot to watch over them and to make them feel as if I were an older sister to them to whom they can go to whenever.
I started taking care of kids when the pandemic started because I had a lot of free time since my classes had been canceled, so I looked into taking care of one of my dad’s friends children. What I would do was help her kids take their online classes and afterwards do the corresponding activities. I would also help them get dressed up for their different activities throughout the day such as taking them to their sports clubs.
I’ve had many different experiences in taking care of kids, but I can say that each one has been different and unique. I know the children I have taken care of have learned as much from me as I have learned from them. I’m truly excited to have these experiences once again.
Now, I’ll talk a little bit about what I like to do. I really enjoy baseball, whether it's playing it o seeing it; I’ve gotten the chance to see children platy baseball and it’s really exciting and fun to watch. To see how they try to hit the ball or catch it brings me a lot of joy. I hope we can someday go and see a baseball game together; I think it would be fun.
I also like to get to know new places and meet new people. It’s easy for me to connect with people when I’m not nervous; I hope I don’t get nervous when I meet you, please be patient with me. I hope you’ll see that having me will be something good and positive for your children. I’ll do everything I can so that they feel confident with me and so that I can take care of them the best that I can.
I have certain expectations of being able to carry out all my responsibilities correctly so that the kids feel comfortable around me. I also hope to acquire personal experience so that when I return to Mexico, I can share the experiences I lived with my family.
I hope you give me the opportunity to be your Au Pair so that you can meet me even better and we can create new experiences together with your children.
