Dear Host Family,

My name is Johanne, I am 22 years old, and I live in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. My friends and family call me Joh, so you can call me Joh too. I come from a family of six: my parents and my three sisters. We are very close, even though we don’t always live in the same place. I currently live with my mother and my younger sister.

After finishing high school, I studied law for two years at university. However, I realized that it was not the right path for me. I wanted to do something meaningful, where I could grow and feel useful. That’s when I started working with children, and I discovered that this is what I truly enjoy.

I volunteered for three months in an association helping underprivileged children learn French. I also completed an internship at an English-speaking nursery, where I helped with daily activities, supported the children, and ensured their safety. In addition, I have experience babysitting and often take care of my younger sister and cousins. These experiences have taught me patience, responsibility, and how to connect with children.

I am also motivated to improve my language skills. I have learned German for six months and I continue improving my English and French.

Becoming an au pair is an important step for me. It will allow me to gain more experience with children, improve my languages, and discover a new culture. In the future, I would like to do professional training in Germany and become a preschool teacher.

I chose Belgium because of its cultural diversity and languages. I am excited to discover a new culture and maybe even learn Dutch.

I would describe myself as patient, kind, responsible, and cheerful. I enjoy spending time with children, playing with them, helping them, and supporting them in their daily life. I also like reading, drawing, and discovering new places.

I am a flexible and open-minded person, and I respect family values and rules. I would be happy to become part of your family and share this experience with you.
