Hello, dear host family!
This is Alina from Kyrgyzstan and I want to thank you for taking time for me. Here are some things I would like to tell you about myself and my experiences.
I live in Naryn with my family: my mom, two brothers and a sister. I am the oldest daughter. Thanks to my family's support I am participating in this Au pair program. Now I will try to tell you why exactly I should be your au pair)
In my country and especially in the city where I live, it is not a common thing to hire nannies for babies, the oldest family members take care of the little ones. That is exactly how I started looking after my own brother when I was only 6-7 and he was 2-3. While caring for him I gradually began to really understand what a big responsibility that was and how careful I had to be. As the time passed, my parents' trust in me just grew and when we had my sister, I started caring for her since she was 2 as well. Meantime I was often asked to care for my cousins and nieces, I have many of them)
Now I understand that looking after my siblings and relatives I did not realize how much confidence I gained automatically.
The first time I told my mom I wanted to work with other kids she let me try working in the kindergarten for 3 months. That was an incredible experience, I still can not get over those cute little kids. I was there early in the morning, helped kids get changed, wash their hands and faces, helped prepare their breakfast table, played with them indoors and outdoors, put to bed in the naptimes, read books, sang, danced and pretty much I helped with everything they do in the kindergarten. I loved how different every one of them was and the kids loved me))
In the end of the year 2019 we welcomed a new baby in our family. As always I helped my mom during his first months. Later in spring I was offered to look after a 4-year-old girl and I immediately agreed to that. We became friends with her literally the second we met. I used to wake her up in the morning, prepare breakfast, help get dressed and the first month I took her to the kindergarten and back, we did her little homework together, and since we lived in one city, after I was done with everything I went home, but sometimes she would ask me to stay. We read books, played and I cuddled her at night. The next 3 months i was with her the whole day, since she did not want to go to the kindergarten in summer. We had so many great activities to do and she would always think of something new to try and play, in simple words we were never bored. Till this day we stay in touch with her and meet up time to time)
Later the same year I babysat a 5-year-old boy, I used to come in the morning, prepare breakfast, take him to the kindergarten and back, prepare dinner (sometimes), do his homework and play. We got a lot of topics to talk about and he was very open-minded and curious about everything, so we enjoyed each other's company)
In summer 2021 I took care of a girl, who was 5 as well. She did not go the kindergarten but she used to go to the music school. We were together the whole day, except in the afternoon I took her to school, it was for 2 hours and till 6-7 pm we were back together. She loved learning new instruments and she also danced. I admired her dedication a lot. The other thing we did a lot was walking outside and chatting, we went to the parks, museum, little cafes since she enjoyed being outside very much)
Those little experiences taught me lots of new things about kids that I could use in the future without even realizing it. I am happy that I had spent time with them and I do not regret even a second of those moments)
Currently my youngest brother is 3 and I take care of him these days.
