Introduction
My name is Diana, and I am truly excited about the opportunity to become your au pair starting in November 2025. I come from Kenya, a country known for its warm hospitality and strong sense of community, and I bring with me not only my childcare experience but also a deep commitment to family, cultural exchange, and personal growth.
I am fluent in English, which makes communication with children and parents easy, and I am also very eager to improve my skills in Luxembourg’s languages such as French, German, or Luxembourgish. One of my biggest motivations for becoming an au pair is to learn about daily life in a new culture, while at the same time sharing my own background, traditions, and values with the family I join.
From an early age, I have been involved in caring for children, both within my own family and in my community. I have looked after my younger siblings and cousins, supporting them with their daily routines, playtime, and schoolwork. I also gained childcare experience outside my family by tutoring, neighbours children. These experiences have taught me patience, responsibility, and how to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for children of different ages.
I believe children need care that is not only attentive but also creative. With me, your children will enjoy story reading, educational games, outdoor activities, and arts and crafts. I especially love encouraging children to explore their curiosity and imagination. At the same time, I understand the importance of structure and discipline, so I will always follow the family’s rules, routines, and expectations to ensure consistency for the children.
As an au pair, I see myself as more than just someone helping with tasks. I aim to become a reliable “big sister” who contributes positively to your children’s emotional and social development. I am ready to help them prepare for school, assist with homework, accompany them to activities, prepare simple meals, and keep their play areas tidy. While my main focus will always be the children, I am also willing to help with light household chores that make family life easier.
Families who know me describe me as responsible, caring, trustworthy, and adaptable. I take pride in being someone you can count on, whether it is following through with tasks, keeping to schedules, or being attentive to the children’s needs. I am also flexible, which I believe is important when living with another family, as every household has its own routines and traditions.
My personal qualities include patience, kindness, and a strong work ethic. I enjoy learning new things and adapting to different situations. I am respectful of other cultures, religions, and family values, and I will do my best to fit in smoothly with your way of life. I also enjoy cooking, and I would be happy to share simple Kenyan meals with your family if you are open to it.
What excites me most about this opportunity is the cultural exchange. I would love to share with your children the joy of discovering new traditions, foods, and languages. At the same time, I am looking forward to immersing myself in Luxembourg’s unique culture, history, and languages. I believe this exchange will not only help me grow as a person but also create meaningful memories for your family and me.
My expectations as an au pair are simple: to be welcomed as part of your family, to learn from you, and to give my best in return. I understand that being an au pair is a balance of responsibilities and opportunities, and I am fully committed to making the experience rewarding for both sides. I will respect your home, follow your guidance in raising the children, and contribute to a positive, supportive household environment.
In terms of practicalities, I am available to join your family starting in November 2025.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my introduction. I would be delighted to answer any questions you may have and to provide more details about my childcare experience and personal background. I am also happy to arrange a video call so that we can get to know each other better.
I look forward to the possibility of becoming a trusted part of your family, caring for your children with love and responsibility, and creating a wonderful cultural exchange experience together.
Warm regards,
Diana Wa
