Dear Host Family,

My name is Monicah, a 23-year-old from Nairobi, Kenya, and I am so excited about the possibility of becoming part of your family!
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a warm, cheerful and energetic person who genuinely loves being around children. Growing up in a big family where I was always helping look after younger siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, caring for children has always felt completely natural to me. It was never a chore — it was just something I loved doing. That love grew into real, hands-on experience over the years.

I ran my own home daycare business in Nairobi, where I looked after several children at a time, managed their daily routines, planned fun and age-appropriate activities and stayed in close communication with their parents. Before that I volunteered at two children's orphanages here in Nairobi — Blessed Generation and Little Angels — where I provided daily care and emotional support to children who really needed it. I have also babysat regularly for families in my neighbourhood and I hold a professional caregiving certificate from Healthskill Medical College.

I am not just looking for a job — I am looking for a family to truly become part of. I want to wake up every morning excited to spend the day with your children, take them on adventures, help with homework, make silly memories and be someone they feel safe and happy around. I take the responsibility of caring for a child incredibly seriously, but I also know how to make every day fun!
Outside of childcare I love being out in nature, cooking and exploring new cultures. I approach life with an open mind and an open heart, and I cannot wait to immerse myself in your culture, learn new things and grow as a person through this experience.
I am also learning German and currently at A2 level, which shows that I am serious about preparing myself for life abroad and communicating well wherever I go.
