Hello, dear host family,
Thank you for being interested in my profile. My name is Darya, you can call me Dasha. I am 25 years old (20 Nov 1997). I come from Kazakhstan and I live in a small family of three people in town Ust – Kamenogorsk.
I finished Kazakh – American Free University in 2019. My major was Foreign languages: two foreign languages. I studied how to become a teacher of English and the second language was German. But I am not good at German, so I don`t teach it.
I started my teaching career when I was very young. I had worked as a counselor and an English teacher in a kids’ camp. I had been working for two weeks as an English teacher the first time I came there (Summer 2016). And the next summer after that I had been doing a job of a counselor for 4 weeks (Summer 2017). I had a lot of children (more than 60) of different ages who I worked with in the camp. I can surely say children loved me. We had a great time together we played a lot outdoors, we created new performances for evening concerts and took the first, second and third places between the squads. Every day we created different games and did a lot of interesting stuff.
In 2016 when I was at my second year of education at university, I started to teach children English in my hometown. (By the time 2015 I had studied and completed advanced level of English in a language center. So, an English teacher of mine had invited me to work at that language center).
And I`m still have been working as a teacher for 8 long years. But now I`m self-employed and have my own office where I teach children. During this time, I had a lot of students from 5 years old to adults. (I can not say the names of my students because it`s just impossible because of the amount of children). Right now, I have about 30 students. I work from Monday to Friday, and I really like to come to my workplace. I always try to find especial approaches to everybody and to create interesting lessons. We have a lot of fun - I love when my children laugh.
So, I am hard-working, reliable, and ambitious person and every time I try my best to do it in a perfect way. I truly belief this program will help me to learn how to teach and communicate with children from other countries and exchange cultures. I love children and I hope I will find common ground with your children and we will be good friends with you and with kids.
I think a part about my hobbies is also important in this letter. I found myself as a nature-lover. It was a new discovery for me in 2023 because I went hiking, drove to lakes, forests a lot, had nights in a tent and I was completely happy with that. I adore active vacations. I like skiing a lot. When I have free time, I like to meet my friends or stay at home and read. The last book I`ve read is the hole collection of Sherlock Holmes stories. I also like to read novels as well, motivation and psychology books.
