Thank you for taking the time to read my letter!
My name is Alua, I am 23 years old, and I am from Almaty, Kazakhstan. Currently, I am working as an au pair in the Netherlands, where I will be staying until August 2025. I look after two wonderful girls, aged 6 and 7, and I truly enjoy my role in their lives.
As an au pair, I take care of their daily routines, including getting them ready for school, preparing meals, and organizing fun and educational activities. We enjoy spending time outdoors, doing creative projects, and exploring new things together. I always strive to create a positive and engaging environment for them, where they feel supported and happy.
Before becoming an au pair, I gained a lot of experience with children by taking care of my younger siblings and cousins. As the eldest child in my family, I naturally took on the role of a caregiver. My younger brother, Sanzhar, is someone I looked after from a very young age, helping with everything from feeding and bathing to homework and playtime. My cousins, particularly during summer holidays, also benefited from my care, and we spent our time playing, learning, and doing creative DIY projects.
In addition to childcare, I also have experience teaching. I taught Chinese online to children in Kazakhstan and found it very rewarding to see their progress. I always try to make learning fun and enjoyable, as I believe that fostering a love for learning is one of the greatest gifts you can give a child.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, learning new skills, and stretching. I’m currently teaching myself how to knit, which has been a challenging but fulfilling process. My hobbies bring me peace and balance, which helps me stay energized and creative in my role as an au pair.
